Back in July 2003 I caught up with two mates Warren Cate and Steven Giannoulis who I knew loved music as much as I did so I suggested we get together over some beers and play our favourite songs. Well we did and then we got together over the coming months and years to create what I think are still some of the best playlists around. In fact our story ended up in a music magazine. Join us as we revisit these old days and highlight the themes we came up with and the songs that we loved at the time.

Pass The Mic spotlights the stories and experiences of New Zealanders from migrant and former refugee backgrounds. The first series from 2022 is a community-led collaboration in partnership with Belong Aotearoa, Sport Waitākere and Storyo, hosted by Elina Ashimbayeva. The second series from 2025 focuses on the employment experience of lived experts and was made with funding from the J R McKenzie Trust.
